Negreanu had reached the final table with a short stack, then emerged as the clear favorite with his chips A♥Q♣ over Isaac Haxton’s A♠4♣. The run of 4♥5♥7♥A♦2♠ was extremely unfortunate for the Canadian. He missed 17 starts on the river.

But the 49-year-old took it with good sportsmanship and appeared in the final interview with host Natalie Bode moments later. He looked a little annoyed when asked for a tip on who would win the event. On: X.com (formerly Twitter) has set its sights on the production of PokerGO:

“Pro tip for @PokerGO Administrators is in the box. In a failed interview, the player who is eliminated at that moment gives exactly zero f%%*% to who will win the tournament.” According to him, the opposite is true because “if the goal is to definitely win the player, ‘Ticking him is an excellent question.”

When asked by an X follower, Negreanu even posted three questions he asked himself after the debacle. The only thing he still owes is answers.

“Of course this is not the result you wanted, but are you happy with your game? Do you regret it?”

“What drives you to compete and play against this extremely high-quality competition?”

“It was a brutal escape. What does it take to cope with the emotional ups and downs of high-stakes poker?”

The Super High Roller Bowl will be decided tonight and Haxton will be the heavy favorite to replace Negreanu and win the $2,760,000 prize. With six players remaining, the American is well ahead of Chris Brewer (845,000) and Jason Koon (700,000) with 3,005,000 chips.
