Germany and Austria won!
The $100,000 tournament was on the schedule of the Triton High Roller Series in Monte Carlo. 78 players who paid the entry fee wanted to guarantee the million-dollar jackpot. Unbelievable: Finally a German is on top. Christoph Vogelsang won 2.4 million euros by winning the mega event. And with that he breaks a very special sound barrier…
German poker star exceeds 30 million mark
Vogelsang has won over $30 million in live tournaments throughout his career. Winning in the Principality of Monaco wasn’t even his greatest achievement. In 2017, he won approximately 5.6 million euros at the Super High Rolle Bowl in Las Vegas. 3 million euros more than that night in Monte Carlo. But this seems like a particularly good place for him: the day before he won €187,000. Thus, he consolidated his second place in Germany’s all-time currency rankings. Only Fedor Holz has earned more than the chosen Londoner.
Germany is in a coal frenzy, but our neighboring country Austria is also winning big in the tournament series. First, former football star Mario Mosböck won 2.47 million euros in the $200,000 invitational event. His compatriot Matthias Eibinger succeeded on Sunday. He managed to secure 3.2 million euros. With 16.8 million euros, it ranks first in the Austrian coal rankings of all time. And it just continues…
Ole Schemion takes second place in the $30,000 event. Leon Sturm, Mosböck and Eibinger are also among the last 34 players. Will there be another win? You can keep pumping in Monte Carlo until November 4th.
